The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has provided the specific syllabus and exam pattern for the CEN 09/2025 Level 1 recruitment. Candidates must prepare according to this official pattern to get more marks in exam and secure one of the 22,195 vacancies. The selection process primarily focused on a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Physical Efficiency Test.
RRB Level 1 Selection Process Stages

Computer Based Test Pattern
Computer Based Test will be of 90 minutes duration for 100 questions. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer.

1. Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
2. General Intelligence and Reasoning
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
3. General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).
4. General Awareness
Current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.
Physical Efficiency Test Standards
Passing Physical Efficiency Test is mandatory and it is qualifying in nature.
